Update: April 29, 2020

Things have been plugging along on the writing and editing front. Interestingly enough, I have been going more done lately not because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but because several projects converged at the same time. I’m working at home for my primary job, as I’m blessed to work for a technology company with a very steady client base. Maybe these projects are converging because of how the pandemic affected others, but either way, I’ll take it.

I have three short stories that have been submitted for publication, and I’m waiting to hear back on those. While I’ve had several stories accepted, as you can see on my Fiction page, I’ve had some others that either weren’t accepted or were written just because the idea came to me. I’ve been thinking about putting together a collection of short stories and self-publishing them. Something to stew on.

Another short story has been accepted for an anthology, and the editor is working on gathering up stories for it so they can be polished, and it can be published. The proceeds from the anthology go to a great charity cause, and I’m looking forward to it seeing the light of day and making the difference in some people’s lives.

There are a couple stories I’ve written, both horror, that are going out to beta readers now. As always, if you’re interested in being a regular beta reader for me, drop me a note to let me know. I’ll always ping my regulars to make sure the genre and subject matter is good for them before sending them.

I have been working with another author, editing her paranormal thriller novel. I’m really loving the polish she has applied to it and can’t wait for it to be out in the wild. Right now, she has it in front of beta readers, and once she gets that feedback, we’ll make any necessary adjustments. Then she will be ready to shop it to agents or publishers. Or, she may choose the self-publishing route. Either way, I love the story, and I’m humbled she has trusted me to help make it better.

I’ve also ventured into co-writing with a production company producing a series of short films. The whole world is their brainchild, so it’s been a challenge working in a universe I didn’t create, but the collaboration has been a great learning experience for me too. They’ve also entrusted me with the role of script supervisor, making sure continuity is maintained from film to film, and again, I’m humbled they trust me with that responsibility.

So what projects are you working on, writing or otherwise? Drop me a note, as I love to hear what my readers are up to also.
